Kuwaiti Army Reports Drone Strike from Iraq on Northern Border Positions
The military indicated that the drones were controlled using fiber-optic guidance systems and had been launched from Iraqi territory. While the strike caused material damage, no injuries were recorded.
As stated by reports, there has been no official response from Iraq, and no group has come forward to claim responsibility for the incident.
The development comes amid ongoing regional tensions, with Iran-aligned groups operating within Iraq. Some of these factions have previously declared military actions targeting US bases in the region during joint US-Israeli strikes against Iran on Feb. 28.
According to reports, those operations led to the deaths of more than 3,300 people in Iran before Washington and Tehran agreed to a two-week ceasefire on April 8, facilitated by Pakistan. The pause in hostilities has remained in place since then.
Recent diplomatic efforts have continued, with the US and Iran holding discussions in Pakistan over the past weekend, and further negotiations reportedly being planned.
