Governor Announces Expansion of Pentaq Manufacturing Operations in Sabana Grande
August 30, 2026, Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico — Governor Jenniffer González-Colón announced the expansion of operations of Pentaq Manufacturing Corp. through the assignment of a new industrial property to support the company’s manufacturing operations in Sabana Grande.
Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company (PRIDCO) Executive Director Roberto Lefranc explained that the 5,785-square-foot facility, located in the Rayo Guaras ward, adds to other properties the company currently leases from PRIDCO in the municipality. Pentaq has been a PRIDCO tenant since April 2004 and specializes in the manufacturing of textile products, including personal and military uniforms and related accessories.
“This expansion by Pentaq represents 50 new jobs and demonstrates the potential of our infrastructure to support Puerto Rican companies that continue to grow and participate in highly specialized industries,” said Governor González-Colón.
“This company has been with us for more than 20 years, investing in Puerto Rico, generating capital in the region, and demonstrating that our industrial spaces are ideal for companies to continue investing, manufacturing, and creating jobs right here,” said PRIDCO Executive Director Roberto Lefranc.
The expansion into this property will support the manufacturing of knee pads, elbow pads, and shorts used as part of the United States Army’s physical training uniforms. The assignment of the facility comes as Pentaq continues to expand in this market, following the company’s recent award of a federal contract valued at more than $41 million over five years to manufacture combat uniform components for the U.S. Army, Air Force, and Space Force.
For his part, Pentaq President Oscar Quiles expressed his appreciation, stating, “We thank PRIDCO, particularly its Executive Director, Roberto Lefranc, and his team, for their visit and support. We also recognize the support of the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the SBTDC, and the Government of Puerto Rico agencies that continue to advance Puerto Rico’s textile industry—an industry that represents an important source of stable employment and demonstrates the ability of our people to produce with excellence, strengthen our economy, and compete at the highest level.”
The corporation’s president also expressed his pride in Pentaq’s workforce, “whose dedication, effort, and commitment have helped position Pentaq as a strong company within Puerto Rico’s manufacturing industry. We are proud to support the U.S. Department of Defense by manufacturing high-quality uniforms for the men and women who serve our Nation,” he added.
It was also reported that the property now being occupied by Pentaq became available on June 1 and remained vacant for approximately three months before being assigned as part of this expansion agreement. “As part of the agreement, PRIDCO provided $19,521 in rent credits for civil and electrical work. In addition, the facility has more than $405,000 in FEMA funds allocated for future improvements,” Lefranc concluded.
PRIDCO manages more than 1,400 properties and over 21 million square feet of industrial space throughout Puerto Rico. This infrastructure is intended to facilitate the establishment, retention, and expansion of businesses in strategic sectors of the island’s economy.
